DescriptionThe Magic Mushroom is a shorter, wider version of a standard shortboard that allows you shorten the arc of your turn, surf tight in the pocket, and generate exceptional speed. Extra width positioned through the centre of the board compensates for the reduction in length, while the rocker profile and bottom contours mimic that of a high performance shortboard. The hip positioned just forward of the fins reduces the tail width to maintain the rail-to-rail sensitivity and response of a much narrower board. Available in SLX construction, the Mushy is ideal for anyone looking to maximize their performance and enjoyment in day-to-day conditions. The smaller sizes will have advanced riders exploring above the lip, the bigger sizes will suit heavier riders who want to surf to their full potential. Surf the Mushy approximately 4 inches shorter than your standard shortboard. Technical InformationDimensions & Fin set-up:
Construction:SLX construction produces a controlled flex pattern by combining the versatility of epoxy materials with the added advantage of reduced weight. All SLX boards have an EPS core with a high-grade timber stringer, which is laminated by hand using epoxy resign, biaxial fiberglass and a specialized construction process. Featuring a high strength-to-weigh ratio, and designs CNC milled directly from the shapers files. SLX boards feel light, responsive and are very sensitive under your feet. These boards are extremely versatile, easy to ride, and can be used in wide variety of conditions. VideoSimilar Products

I bought this board as a groveller to compliment the rest of my quiver. In 100 kgs and 6'3'' and bought the 6'4 mushy as a board for a trip back to Ireland during summer. Im an intermediate surfer with average talent and i surf with a heavy back foot. I'm mostly surfing in western Australia in good solid waves. It's my first epoxy board and have noticed there is definitely more float than my other pu boards which admittingly I've grown to love, easily could have gotten the 6'2" I reckon and still had plenty. Anyway about the board. It's a beautiful plan shape with really well hidden volume tucked into theboard around the tail significantly and all over. I've been using it as a quad and find the board has loads of speed without having to work hard to get it or maintain it. I've surfed it upto head high and a half without thinking that I needed a different board which is always pleasant. The board is great for floaters and it's no lie when they say you'll be exploring above the lip, the extra width throughout the board gets you in nice and early and without much fuss. The boards performance isn't really compromised by this though as the slight hip in the business end provides enough of a line to provide a predictable pivot point ,maintain manouvrabililty and reponsiveness and allow you to cut whatever lines you choose. The only problem I've found with the board is the glassing on it baring in my mind this is the lightest board I've ever owned. Incredibly light for its volume. The board is strong withstanding waves and no real compression makes on a deck that has been well stomped on at this stage. It's just little ding here and there and it'll pretty much hole the glassing with ease I've found. Had the board a month surfed it almost every day and have already had to make two repairs to it from minor car park dings. However, I'd still buy one tomorrow hands down cos the thing just flys and overall although not perfect I'm in love. Have a local shaper already making me a step up version of this puppy. Verdict : get one, you'll be happy you did. Good glide. Regular short board performance made easier. Great for the big fellas and everyday surf,
