Digital HERO 3 Waterproof Camera Description

The great little camera is really perfect for surf shots. It'll take decent stills but better than that it'll take TV quality video and it's completely waterproof. Strap it to your wrist and shot yourself or your mates in the water, back home you can upload it to your PC or just plug it straight into the TV. Of course you can also then share your clips on Magicseaweed.com or Youtube.

The camera is tough, tiny and the designers have really understood what surfers will want to do with it. Left turned on the camera will last a good three hour session with just one button to press to record the action...

The Digital HERO 3 is the ultimate waterproof action camera, waterproof down to 30 meters.

Not only is it a 3 mega-pixel waterproof camera, taking still photos and with a built-in 16Mb internal memory, which is expandable to 2Gb using a 2Gb SD Card, but more importantly, it is also a waterproof video camera.

As waterproof video camera, it has the capacity to shoot 54 minutes of colour TV resolution video (640x480 pixels) with a memory card, also capturing sound.

It is easy to use and lightweight enough that it is hardly noticeable. It can be strapped to your wrist, kayak paddles, handlebars, rollbars, etc.

Photo stills are suprisingly good and in focus even when moving quickly. No problems with water spots on lense and able to attach to windsurf mast with some cable ties. Nifty little thing!

I found the buttons a bit awkward to use in the water and managed to delete stuff accidentally whilst scrolling through. Looking at other waterproof cameras since i have found they are similar price and look a better option.

Great video quailty for daytime. Great wrist strap design - really handy for taking pictures and keeps camera comfortably out of the way when surfing. Only problem I had was that the on button kept getting pressed accidently really easily and so camera kept switching on which meant alot of flat batteries at those kodak moments. Great fun. Nice product. Recommend on to anyone.

Looks suspiciously like a piece of cheap plastic junk when taken out of its waterproof housing. But, it isn't. With easy handling and sharp pictures the HERO keeps all its promises.

It's brilliant! The camera is designed not to get in the way, which is great. Image quality is dependent on the ability of the user I think, but first attempts turned out pretty well - can't wait to try and get some good shots of my mates in the water!

This camera is amazing! It's so light I often forget I am wearing it. It adjusts really well in difficult light conditions when the quality is really very good for 3megapixels. With a 2mb memory card I have never used up all of its storage capacity even when videoing. Really easy to view photos on computer or TV which is great when travelling as you can delete an unwanted shots.

To be honest i was not expecting much from a camera of this price. Points in favor: -It works nice in bright light conditions; -I had been doing scuba dive with it to depths of 30 meters without any problem; -Every body at some point got interested on it. Not so good points: -images get really dark if a bright light is not present; -when playing on pc i get some nasty kind of jumps; -unable to reproduce images or video on my tv. I'd use Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries and don't have complaints. In summary a very handful camera that you can use for good weather at surface or near surface dives.

The housing is okay, although the camera is very basic and the images it takes are of very low quality, far worse than those taken on my mobile phone. The in built memory is also faulty and it wont take any pictures without an additional memory stick. The supplied batteries were faulty too.

Great little camera, my local is a shore break and the cameras taken a pounding and still works. The stills are great and the video fottage is good, get a 2GB card if your going to use the video alot (£7.88 @ valuemedia.com). Battery monster though, get some rechargables!

It is hard too tell wheather the video is recording or not as there is not any screen indication.Also unless you have a laptop in the car you cannot see weather you have the photos or videos you were hoping for and by the time you get home it is too late to do anything about it.

Good picture and sound quality all round, only drawback for surfing is that the way it straps to your wrist means it is difficult to film and surf at the same time, and the battery life is quite short if using video. But all in pretty good for the money...
