DescriptionDoc's Proplugs is the only earplug that protects the ears from surfer's ear by keeping a warm pocket of air in the canal and keeping cold water out without impeding hearing and balance. Anyone with severe narrowing of the ear canal can avoid frequent water blockage by wearing Proplugs, the earplug for sports professionals. Severe exostosis can be prevented from progressing by wearing proplugs and reinforcing consistent warmth by wearing hoods, hats and hair-bands especially when sleeping at night. Developed and designed by a surfing physician since 1977
Sizing: Please download the sizing chart and cut out the Pro Plugs template and test in your ear to determine the correct size Similar ProductsQuestions
QI've downloaded and printed the Pro plugs size chart. I seem to be between sizes, the medium size look just a tad better fit than the large. Would you advise going larger or smaller?
Thanks,
Tom
Ahi,
we would recommend using the the size up if you are between sizes, that way there wont be a gap but it might be a squeeze.
QHi!
Do you have a size chart for these?
AWe do have a size chart which you can download and print out, here is a link: http://store.magicseaweed.com/image/proPlug.pdf

Decent plugs. Size chart is really useful to get the right ones on order (if in dout, go big). Take a while to get them fitted right, but once they're in they'in, no matter how much of a beating you take!

Good plugs - make sure you get right size , if in doubt go larger as the idea of these is to provide a complete seal around the whole ear not just the bit that pushes into your ear canal

Just to say the in the website you have the picture of the Doc's Proplugs in transparent, but I receive them red :-/
You don't have a choose color window. Anyway, the plugs are the best in the market and work ok.

I have loads of trouble with my ears after surfing. Have gone semi-deaf for weeks. These seem to sort me out fine. Leash is a top idea. Tie it on to your hood or wetsuit zip.

In one ear they fit nicely and pass the 'humming test' (where you put it in and hum and see if the sound bounces straight back into our head) but in the other they don't. I've used these for swimming so far and I don't get any trapped water which is cool! Shall check them out in September and see how they far out in the open water.

If you surf daily, wear these plugs. The right size won't come out but the string between the plugs wraps easily around the neck velcro on my suit anyway.

I was recently diagnosed with surfer's ear and advised to wear ear plugs. I tried Hearos and other putty type earplugs, but the Doc's proplugs are without doubt the best I have found!

This is the second pairsize I,ve tried. Propably got odd ears because they don't seal well enough against cold water entry. Will work against pressure burst.

Easy to wear, impair hearing a little but not as much as other plugs. Stops my ears getting blocked and haven't had any ear problems since. The plugs do take a little getting used to, and the valve does get blocked sometimes but a quick flick or tap unblocks them.

Really good product- My right ear has closed up quite a lot due to surfer's ear, and these plugs are great for keeping water out but your hearing, and therefore balance, is still good. Took 3 surfs before i was fully used to them, now I can surf 3 hours without noticing them. Increadible how they stay in- you can take a real punking by a big set and they stay put!

good and comfy but the sound can be quite erratic and pretty disorientating to start with. Great for under a hood in the winter where other plugs are just plain uncomfortable.

After reading a fair bit of horror on the old surfers ear, decided to give it a miss and go the earplugs route. These are pretty much as good as you can get before getting custom moulds done. They fit in well, instructions were good and other than a full on bail they keep the water out - job done. £12 might seem like a lot for a shaped piece of plastic but I'd take that over having my ear drilled out any day.
