Description

FCS are a surf travel company at the core and, besides being well made and extremely robust these racks also benefit from being much slimmer than the alternatives, making them easy to pack into a board bag for the hire car.

The rack uses FCS 'D-Ring' fixings for the straps, pretty much the strongest system around. The rack includes the straps to fix to the car and to hold on the boards.

Single Rack
Holds 1-3 shortboards or 1-2 longboards.

Double Rack
Holds 1-6 shortboards or 1-4 longboards.

QHi, Are the FCS premium soft racks suitable for longer trips, and what is the maximum reccomended speed they can be used at. Are they safe at highway speeds? I will be carrying one standard shortboard Thanks
AYes, they will be fine to use on the highway for a long distance with one board.

Great bit of kit, made our trip to Portugal a breeze. Looked slick on top of a rather awesome Renault.

incredibly easy to use and does the job its supposed to with no fuss. I haven't tested it out capacity but takes two board perfectly fine. I can still use all the straps and stuff after my hands have stopped working due to the cold of the north sea. Can't really ask more than that. MS delivery was nice and quick as per

Simple, easy to use and they work. Haven't tried them in rain yet. Make sure you do them up tight, as there's a buzz when driving if you don't.

This is a brilliant product which works very well indeed. The rain is the only problem as the water runs down the straps into the car and drips on you. Also, its easy to forget the metal buckles that get trapped in the car door unless you move them out of the way. Be careful when closing the doors and tie some old rags around the staps when it rains.

Very good. Easy to put on, and got better at it after a few uses. Straps need to be tightened as much as possible (i.e. lean whole body weight on strap when tightening, wiggle boards on top, then tighten again) otherwise makes a noise like a vuvuzela at speeds > 50mph, however when done properly virtually silent. Have not used in pouring rain yet, but in light drizzle no water in coming into car.

Well made. The buckle system is different from the clamp style and takes a bit of working out the loop routine but it works well and does not tear at the straps. I love them!

Brilliant soft racks... take seconds to install and are strong and secure. Rain does seep along the straps a little, but you'd expect it to as they have to go through the door seals... other than that... highly recommended!

This is a very good quality product and is easy to attach. There isn't much information online about whether it fits a 3 door vehicle but i can confirm that it fits onto a three door corsa without too much trouble.

Great for temporary use, we managed to sling to shorties and one longboard on it at the same time without a problem. Watch out for tropical rain though! It seeps through the straps onto the seats - poor hire car :)

Quite heavy but very protective of surf boards. Bit hard to wheel at the handle positions need to be moved but what do you expect from a design engineer.

Good bit of kit, if fastened right it'll be no problems at all, we musthave hit 90mph on the way from South Devon to Gatwick for our trip to to Marocco and had no problems, can get a wee bit noisey but no big deal and there are ways around it.

Have yet to use this on a long journey but I'm a little skeptical, used when moving house and cant seem to get it tight enough to stop the boards moving, I think this may be a problem on a longer trip!

Fitted my 3 door astra fine, via the hatch. Board moved slightly whilst attached but was ok. The only and biggest negative to the this product is that when it starts to rain the water comes through the fabric and into the car. I was on a 4 and a half hour journey to Croyde and had to pull into a sheltered petrol station and wait for the rain to stop as the leakage became uncontrollable. Very disappointed in this product. MSW.com are great though and await their correspondance regarding this issue.

Although the buckle is the best i have used so far it has the tendency to scratch your roof when taking the boards of the top.

Works really well. Holds steady in higher speeds. The cord on the outside when tight can sometimes make a noise a bit like when you blow grass between your fingers. But if you put a bit of cloth there to buffer join at the rope an car it stops it. All round really useful when needed.
