Overview

The Concept

The Yogi Bear is the performance mal of choice for bearman when the waves are tiny. Ankle to chest high this board is a machine. Nose ride till you hit the beach or whack a few man turns in, it's capable of either if you are. Paddles like a dream and is still perfectly manoeuvrable off the tail the Yogi Bear will keep you in the water for hours when the waves are barely ride able. The perfect longboard for those summer months of no swell.

The tech stuff and why we did it

The primary concept behind this model was to keep speed and flow through the turns or nose rides when the waves are small. To achieve this we flattened the rocker of the Bearman pro model, widened the template overall and added a bit more foam through out the deck and on the rails. The concave is the same pattern as the Bearman Pro, the single through the nose is a touch deeper as is the double through the fins, the vee is lessened slightly to keep the board higher in the water with as much water travelling under the board as possible which helps to keep the speed up. We have also worked on keeping the board light as possible by using a double 4oz cloth, to make sure it is easier to throw around when the waves offer little power to work with. All of these factors keep this board super fast and easy to turn with the added bonus of extra stability when nose riding. You can rip it up on your Yogi Bear no matter what the waves are doing.

Fins

The Yogi Bear is supplied with two FCS side bite fins.

Dimensions & Fin set-up:

The two side bites are designed to be used with a centre fin, if you don't have a fin we have a wide selection of longboard fins which suit a variety of riding styles on the longboard fin page.

Construction:

Standard Poly construction, 2 layers of 4 oz cloth on the deck and the bottom.
