The 60fps and 1080p modes which set this model apart from the Hero 960 really pay off in high action sports like surfing where you want to be able to slow the action down when watching it back.
If you want to achieve the smoothest slow-mo of your barrel footage the 60fps mode is the one to go for.
There has never been an easier or more effective option for shooting water footage, the rechargeable lithium battery has 2.5 hours of juice, the SDHC compatible card slot allows up to 32 GB cards to be used.
The Surf Hero comes with a board-mount for attaching the camera to your board, the housing clips securely into the mount and can be removed easily when your sessions over.

Good piece of kit - robust. Needs practise to get the hang of capturing the right image. Fish eye means you need to be close to an object if you want to use it freestyle filming...

much better than the standard HD, worth the money. However, thinking of getting fcs mount installed after seeing a friends dissapear from the front of his board.
