While this book probably isn't as important to the surfer as his
Instant Wind Forecasting book Alan Watts again takes a technical subject and breaks it down to give, rather than just alot of science or background information, practical information on what kind of prediction you can make from what you see.
Sitting out the back and see a dark line of clouds approaching and a little knowledge from this book will give you an idea of whether the winds will change and if you'll be changing in the rain.
Probably not an essential but for the money a smart buy for any surfer interested in the weather.
