The Beach Buggy... By Taj is a more accessible, every mans, performance shortboard. This board features the same high rocker in the tail as the Whiplash x Taj for the aggressive back foot surfer, but with more width and less rocker moving forward to suit the needs of surfers riding waves in less than perfect conditions. This is a high performance grovel board, not a pure groveller. If you want a stick that you can use in slightly smaller surf, as well as the good stuff then the extra volume and extra drive in the Beach Buggy will be a great place to start.
Designed specifically with input and feedback from world tour veteran and high performance surfing icon, Taj Burrow. This collaboration/collection stems from the work done to satisfy TBs needs for his trademark brand of razor sharp, explosive, and cutting edge competitive and free surfing. With two World Tour wins (Snapper Rocks and Steamer Lane) in our first full season (2012) of working together, the results more than speak for themselves.
Derived from the Whiplash X Taj. The Beach Buggy is more of an "every-mans" high performance shortboard. Used by many WT and Qualifying Series competitors, because it works equally well in small junk surf. Featuring the Same Whiplash X Taj, hyper extended tail rocker (for tight radius arcs off the back foot) but a significantly more relaxed entry rocker, which combined with a wider nose allows for more drive and forward momentum , and stability, with a bigger landing platform from reverse and tweaked airs.
A wider hip and tail block is added to the outline in the tail for more lift at low speeds, but the tail width at 12" is relatively similar to the Whiplash X Taj. This allows for more precision and control than most other "grovel" boards. With the centre line and rail volume carried farther into the rails and out to the nose and tail the Beach Buggy is designed to be ridden 1-2" shorter than the Whiplash X Taj. In the right size, this is a high performance shortboard that can be ridden and enjoyed by most surfers of average to above average ability... not just for skinny kids and pros.
Dimensions & Fin set-up:
Standard Polyester construction.
S Glass is a multi weave fibreglass cloth, this gives it more strength than standard "E" glass without adding extra weight.
The colour of the Lost logo may vary depending on the size of the board.
Lost began in 1985 when Matt Biolos and a bunch of school friends were into snowboarding at Mt. Baldy, skateboarding at the Pipeline in Upland, and surfing in Dana Point. They weren't too worried about winning this football game or that contest. They were "team lost". Thus the name '...lost' scribbled on books, t-shirts, benches, tables and eventually clothing.
QHi,I am interested in the model Beach Buggy 6´0.I can change fins by a tailpad? Thanks.
AHi, we do not offer part exchange of the fins as they are supplied with the board and we cannot resale them.
