Sick suit, Stupidly warm, usually go for 4/3mm as the wind chill gets to me with normal 3/2's but this is by far the warmest 3/2mm iv ever owned. Extremely comfortable, light, flexible - will recommend this suit to everyone. Def worth a purchase ! ”Shaun Ellis, 10 Jul. Review is from O'Neill Mens 3mm Hyperfreak (Black/Blue). Translate.
This is the 2014 version of this O'Neill Wetsuit. Magicseaweed are an official O'Neill stockist and part of the O'Neill Warranty and Repair scheme
O'Neills Hyperfreak range feature their comfortable, flexible neoprene called technobutter, it absorbs less water and weighs less than regular neoprene and we've found that it feels great agsinst the skin too.
3mm is the most popular thickness for summer wetsuits in the UK, it gives you better flexibioity than a thicker winter wetsuit and enough warmth to get through the whole summer and into the autumn comfortably.
This wetsuit will be perfect for someone looking for a very flexible experience without paying too much, the value of the Hyperfreak range is one of their best selling pints, with a front zip, very flexible neoprene and O'Neill's track record we expect this range to be very popular with UK surfers.
A front zip entry system allows for more stretch and lets less water in than a back zip system, combined with the large single panel on the front of the wetsuit and the lack of lining on this inside, it makes this wetsuit one of the most flexible 3mm's that we offer.
The double layer of neoprene on the neck helps avoid rubbing by allowing the neck to roll up and down as it moves.
This is a 3/2 wetsuit, it has 3mm panels in the torso and legs and 2mm panels in the arms, this ensures you get the warmth in the core of the body and the flexibility to paddle in the arms.
The best thickness of wetsuit for you depends mostly on where and what time of year you will be surfing, 3mm is the most popular thickness for summer wetsuits in most of the UK and Europe.
We wear our 3mm wetsuits from Spring to Autumn in the South West of the UK.
We have created a guide which goes into more depth about choosing the best thickness for you so if you've got any doubts take a look at the msw wetsuit thickness guide
Getting the right size wetsuit is critical, the wrong size will not keep you warm and could end up putting more stress on the seams, different brands use slightly different size charts so you may not be the same size across different makes of wetsuit, we suggest looking at the size chart page to judge which size will be the best fit for you.
If you have any questions about the differences between wetsuits, the fit or the thickness that would be best for you give us a call on 01548 854660 or an e-mail on email@example.com where we're happy to help.
This new Hyperfreak series for Spring 2014 is constructedwith super buttery 100% Technobutter, clean graphics, insane colour blocking, light and flexible GBS seams, lumbar seamless design (LSD), and krypto knee padz. The lightweight, quality materials and attention to detail make this another team inspired favourite.
I would wear the same size as you normally do in O'Neill, please check your measurement against the O'Neill size chart here; http://store.magicseaweed.com/blog/wetsuit-size-guide/
Excellent suit. I use it for seakayaking. Paddled to Inishtrahull last weekend and worked hard in it. It was very comfortable and uber flexible. The sense of freedom compared to a drysuit is amazing. This suit is a chest entry suit. Easy to get into though a bit harder to get out but with the help of a buddy it's not a problem. For seakayaking in winter I might try the 5/3 as this is a 3/2mm. If the suit was fitted with a relief zip it would be a huge improvement for paddlers. If it had a spray deck skirt attached nobody would use drysuits with their vulnerable latex seals and bulk.Michael Carroll, 2 May 14. Review is for O'Neill Mens 3mm Hyperfreak (Black/Blue).
Excellent suit, super warm and flexible. The technobutter neoprene is amazing. I'm warm enough in it with the water being around 12deg. Very pleased.Jonty Tucker, 6 Jun 14. Review is for O'Neill Mens 3mm Hyperfreak (Black/Blue).
