Description

These well made Ocean & Earth soft racks are designed to safely attach surfboards to almost any car with four doors or will work through the front doors and hatch at a push.

The straps holding the rack to the car AND the straps holding the boards to the rack are both integral so you don't need to buy extra straps.

Single Rack
Will fix four shortboards or two longboards to the roof of your car.

Double Rack
Will fix six shortboards or two longboards and two shortboards to the roof of your MPV or Van.

QI have a 4 door VW Polo OpenAir - which has a sliding full length sunroof (soft). Can I use the Ocean Earth Rap Rax on this? I would be carrying a Bic 5'10'' Fish Pocket Rocket and an 8'4'' mini mal so would I need a single or double when considering the soft top set up?
AI wouldn't recommend using a soft rack with this car.
Qfor the question on the 3 door fiesta were would the 2nd strap be situated? through the boot door? or would 1 through the front 2 doors be sufficient?
AThe rear strap would go through the boot door.

QHi, There is quite a bit vibration noise coming from my straps and i have read in the reviews that people twist the straps to get rid of this problem. Could you please advise.
AAny roof rack strap (including hard racks) can vibrate and create noise when driving. Putting a twist in the strap can often distrupt the air flow and solve the problem and we'd definitely suggest trying it - it doesn't mean you've fitted the rack incorrectly, although you might also want to experiment with the placement of the racks and boards until you find a way to minimise it with your particular car.

Works really well. Only minor flaws are a slight humming when you go above 30mph, and that the straps arent quite as wide as I would like - they may not be great for your rails.

I can chuck it on the car in 2 min and it carries my surf kayak nicely, even though technically it is designed for surfboards, so clearly a versatile piece of kit - no water leaks and solid as you like on the roof! Good job!

Great product for quick set-up. But they are a little sore on the paintwork. Easily fixed by running some strips of cloth under the straps though.

If you need a soft rack then this is the soft rack you need. Simple, secure fitting and held 2 longboards on a polo 200 miles. Didn't need adjusting once. No noise, no water letting, no nonsense.

Excellent product & also attaches to roof rails (if you have them) so you don’t need to pass the strap through the car. I had no probs @ 90mph + & would easily accommodate 2 maybe 3 boards stacked.

Dead easy to use and set up, simple and effective design holds two funboards easily enough did a hundred miles may have gone a little faster than 70 but can easily handle 70mph. Rained heavily and only let a few drips of water in. Car is a new 5dr Astra

The surf rack survived a 900 miles trip up to Thurso and stood the 100mph wind... well done! Easy to attach and detach. The plastic cover of the sponges and the strips left minor marks on the shine of the car. It is worth to put some neoprene or something soft below them to avoid negotiation with car hire company.

Drove for an hour and a half with our two brand new boards on top, first time use. Got home and they were as secure as when we set off. Think I hit 80mph on the way home too...although to be on the safe side I tried to remain at 70mph. Brilliant piece of kit, great price.

really easy to fit to car- packaging has clear instructions, the tip to twist the strap to stop vibration noise worked a treat. have fixed long board and short board on top to roof no problems at all! Its true that a little water leaks in when it rains- but this is to be expected as the seal on the door is compromised by the strap- this would be true for any brand of roof strap. I would buy these again or the double pack if i buy more boards.

Only snag is that the boards do not go on as tightly as I'd like. Had a longboard on the other day and it was moving around a bit. This could be solved by using a regular strap or two to go over the whole lot, so it's not a huge problem.

Superb alternitive to a permenant roofrack. Unfortunatly for me, my car is a 1982 Citron Dyane with a soft top, it still works as it should, but its a bit dodgy. So if you have a soft top maybe its best to get something permentant!

Looks good, however possibly can;t use it as my car has roof gutters - something that the blurb doesn't mention in your description, but is clearly labelled on the product. As I left it to the last minute to buy them before I went on holiday, it rather messed up my plans for taking my board. However, will keep them because 1. as I was on holiday could not return them to you within the stipulated time, and 2, they may well come in handy at some future date. So not a complete disaster, but it might be handy if you mention in your info about the product, that they are not suitable for cars with roof gutters!
