Created by the publishers of Surfgirl magazine (who also publish Carve) this really is in many way the best 'introduction to surfing' book we've got. It covers pretty much everything - buying a board, rules of the line up, forecasting, learning to surf, travel and a brief guide to the UK's beaches and loads more. The format is similar to a mag layout, with occasional adverts and loads of good photos.
If you can get over the (in our opinion) slightly patronising few pages on body care and cosmetics it's a great guide to the sport.
