Softback book - 143 pages. This is probably the nicest designed and layed out book on our shelves. Dispensing photos for some really well executed illustration and typography the same care that's gone into the presentation seems to have gone into the content. Like any book there's no way it's going to teach you to surf (only water time will do that) but if you're looking to paddle out for the first time it'll answer most of the questions you're going to want answered with chapters on equipment, etiquette, travel and of course learning to surf (covering both longboards and shortboards). Great book, covers a lot with some great illustrations. Girlfriend loves it. Apart from the obvious girl-orientated sections, this would be a good beginners guide for blokes too. Better than a lot of other learn to surf books/DVDs out there.

I have had trouble communicating the art of surfing to me bird, so I bought her this book, she read it and found it usefull. I read it and laughed my nuts off. Girls are weird!
