Magicseaweed Description

A great combination of warmth and feel for the surfboard, the split toe design is a favourite among the staff at magicseaweed, if you're surfing in the South West of the UK you can wear 5mm Drylock boots through the coldest part of the year and get the benefit of a more natural feeling on your surfboard with the split toe.

5mm neoprene throughout the boot with blindstitched and glued seams that are sealed on the outside with Taitex and the inside with fusion tape, blind stitching means the stitch does not go all the way through the neoprene meaning less chance of any water getting in.

The Drylock ankle seal ensures a good, comfortable seal above the ankle to keep as much water out of the boots as possible.

The Velcro straps across the instep allows you to tighten up the fit once the boot is onto make sure you're not slipping inside the boot.

Technical Information

Technical Specifications:

  • Seamles Drylock ankle seals and a flexible lightweight sole
  • 100% Blind stitched which means a more watertight construction since no stitching fully penetrates through the neoprene
  • Taitex selaed seams plus pressure bonded velcro straps and pull loops
  • ThermoCarbon lining and Ultrastretch neoprene ankle panels.
  • Velcro cinches across the insteps help provide a secure fit
  • Solid sole underneath the split toe to prevent leash or seaweed hang ups

Sizing

We recommend going for the same size in wetsuit boots as you wear in regular shoes, you want a snug fit without any pressure on your toes.

The size printed inside an Xcel boot is the US size, the sizes on the site for all 2013 Xcel boots are in UK sizes so if you've got a pair from a previous season with 10 printed on the inside you want to go for a UK 9 size.

Questions

QI currently have a pair of xcel Infiniti boots with a 9 printed on the inside, does this relate to the US sizing and as such does this equate to a UK size 8? Can you post to NZ?
AYes, the 9 on the inside of the Xcel boots is the US9, this is a UK8. We can send to New Zealand, please choose NZ from the drop down box of countries when ordering.
QHi guys. When will you be getting 9s back in stock
Ahi, we wont be getting these again un till September when we get our new winter stock
QWould it be possible to have a size conversion chart for these boots please? thank you Marie
AWe would recommend wearing the same size boots as you do in shoes.

Not sure if my pair are not as well made as others. But compared to my old infiniti boots, my toes get colder and they're not as comfy.

boots fit an feel very comfortable but are dissapointingly cold, i find my 5mm cskins sessions boots actually keep me warmer for longer. I feel that they may not be 5mm all over especially around the toes, I would recomend people probably going for the infinity boots instead as they seem to have more meat on them so to speak.

Great build quality, while Patagonia boots are more stretchy, I feel the Xcel have the edge in terms of support and fit. I've not used the boots yet to compare against my old Infiniti boots but certainly look and feel promising for keeping toes toasty through the winter.

Great fit, super warm, sturdy booties. Well worth the money. There's no hope they're going to let any water in.
