This season Xcel have introduced the Revolt, if you bought the Drylock without the powerseams last year and you want the most equivalent wetsuit, go for the Revolt.
A hooded wetsuit is more effective at keeping water out than a non hooded wetsuit with a separate hood, the hood itself makes a huge difference to warmth in the winter, keeping the heat in even when the winds blowing. It's a permanently attached hood so it can't be removed but you can pull it down around your neck if you're feeling warm.
Taking many features fro the flagship Drylock range like the popular wrist seals, insulating air chamber neoprene in the chest and back panels and the X2 front zip system, it also incorporates all new lighter neoprene and quick drying fluffy lining.
Xcel have given the new combination of lighter foam, fluffy lining and quick dry fabric on the outside the title of TD3.
The new lighter foam has more air blown into it so it's not only lighter but warmer as well.
The new fluffy lining on the inside of the chest and back panels has grooves in it which helps the water run off so it dries more quickly, the lining on the outside of the wetsuit makes water run off before it soaks in.
It has the regular fluffy lining down to the knees and uses Xcels stretchy tape for sealing on this inside of the seams, this will increase the lifespan of the suit and keep you warmer.
This is a 5/4/3 wetsuit, it has 5mm panels in the torso and legs and 4mm panels in the arms and 3mm panels under the arms, this ensures you get the warmth in the core of the body and the flexibility to paddle in the arms.
The best thickness of wetsuit for you depends mostly on where and what time of year you will be surfing, 5mm is the most popular thickness for year round surfing in the UK.
We have created a guide which goes into more depth about choosing the best thickness for you so if you've got any doubts take a look at the msw wetsuit thickness guide
Getting the right size wetsuit is critical, the wrong size will not keep you warm and could end up putting more stress on the seams, different brands use slightly different size charts so you may not be the same size across different makes of wetsuit, we suggest looking at the size chart page to judge which size will be the best fit for you.
If you have any questions about the differences between wetsuits, the fit or the thickness that would be best for you give us a call on 01548 854660 or an e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org where we're happy to help.
Nog niet kunnen proberen. Volgende week in Frankrijk en ik verwacht er veel van! Lijkt goed te zitten en ziet er mooi uit.alex julien, 30 Aug 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.
Great suit, very warm and comfortableJS, 6 Oct 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.
I cannot believe the flexibility in use of this suit, super easy on and off for a winter suit too. My previous hooded xcel infiniti winter suit lasted eight years, so this one has some big shoes to fill, but I have to say it's off to a very good start. Roll on February for a proper test.A R, 4 Nov 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.
Brilliant suit, nice and toasty, flexible, comfortable and dries very quickly.DN, 17 Nov 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.
Took the suit out for the first time at the end of November, as promised it is warm. Normally I feel the cold something terrible, so a real benefit. It is however a bit awkward, with the neck entry, I'm used to a back zip, but I'm told this improbes with use. On the whole pleased so far, a good bit of kit, if a bit pricey at £300+, still you have to pay for quality....Captain Baldi, 12 Dec 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.

Great wetsuite, and incredibly warm compared to my old Oneill. However the stitching has already started to come apart at atleast 3 of the joints, after only one surf! I'm praying this will not be an issueAngus Flockhart, 16 Jan 13. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock (Black) 2013.
great fit. opted for the slightly tighter ST fit rather than the MT as the flex in the neoprene is super stretchy and flexiblefrank luckham, 19 Nov 13. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Revolt (Blue).
Great product. Warm as toast but have yet to try it in North sea in winter. Only give 4 stars as waiting to see about durability of the super-stretchy bits. Extensive range of sizes and size chart a big help.Wil Halford, 5 Nov 11. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock Hooded (Black) 2013.

Wetsuit - excellent, customer service - excellent, 5 Feb 12. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock Hooded (Black) 2013.
First time for me to own a proper wetsuit. It's nice to be getting out of the water because I'm tired and not because of the cold, in February.Robin, 29 Feb 12. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock Hooded (Black) 2013.
I've worn it about 7 times over a week and a half. The cord you use to tighten on the left-hand side of the chest is fraying and looks like it will snap soon. On the chin of the hood the stitching is coming undone. Aside from this, it's a good suit. I've only used it up around Thurso (water at about 7º) and happily stay out for 3 hours or so. I come in because I'm tired, not because I'm cold. I am getting water in the suit though - sometimes down through the hood, other times up through the legs - not often, but often enough to notice. Not sure if that's normal or due to further faults with the wetty. Looking forward to sorting out a replacement suit and doing another review. I expect that the faults I'm experiencing are way out of the ordinary (?). I hope so.Dylan Fogarty-MacDonald, 30 Apr 12. Review is from Xcel Mens 5mm Drylock Hooded (Black) 2013.
