Lib Tech Lost Freak Flag Bean Bag Surfboard
- Colour: White
Er, maybe we'll just let Matt Biolos, legendary Lost shaper and architect of this explosive pocket rocket, explain: "A radical small wave design based on maximum surface area for lift, stability and unbridled speed in tiny surf. Inspired by the original 'double ender' Bean Bag, Lib Tech’s 'Freak Flag Bean Bag' features a refined, winged outline for tighter turns, added bite and faster transitions rail to rail. Tip-to-tail vee bottom, for forgiveness and on rail surfing in the smallest of waves. It also features a flat (low center of gravity) and stable deck, with forgiving rails. This board is meant to be surfed very short. Unlike most extremely wide and short boards, it has the ability to be surfed aggressively from the tail, and up onto a rail, without sliding out... Get off the Couch, toss your LazyBoy and fly your Freak Flag!"If Biolos is the architect, Lib Tech are the brickies, the scaffolders, the construction workers. MBC or "ECO IMPACTO" construction takes an innovative mix of materials and combines them via Lib Tech's unique Thermo Pressure Fusion Process. The resultant boards are both more durable and more eco-friendly than standard-construction surfboards, all without sacrificing performance.
The M stands for magnesium fibre, the B for basalt fibre, the C for the Carbon spine and stringer. The first two provide amazing strength and resilience, and work together with the carbon stringer to impart a really dynamic feel underfoot, with great rebound and flex properties. The nitrogen-cell polyester blank has a high recycled content (25-40%) and is itself fully recyclable, so off-cuts don't go to waste; the laminate features bio-matrix resin that lasts longer than standard epoxy.
